A SMALL APP. A SIMPLE SETUP.

Drag. Connect. Listen.

Already using Hush? Quit it before replacing the app.

  1. Move Hush into Applications.

Open the DMG and drag Hush onto the Applications shortcut. Wait for the copy to finish, then eject the disk.

  2. Open Hush and allow Bluetooth.

Launch it from Applications. Pair and connect your WH-1000XM6 in System Settings → Bluetooth.

  3. Find the headphones in your menu bar.

Open Hush’s panel to adjust your settings. If the Sony mobile app holds the control connection, close it and retry.

EARLY ACCESS, WITHOUT THE FINE PRINT

Know before you install.

Not yet Apple-notarized.

This release is ad-hoc signed, not Developer ID signed or notarized. A DMG does not bypass Gatekeeper, and macOS may prevent it from opening. Building from source is the recommended early-access route. We do not ask you to disable macOS security protections.

Build from source

WH-1000XM6 only, for now.

Other WH and WF models are not enabled. Hush is not a complete replacement for Sony Sound Connect: firmware updates, mobile services and spatial calibration remain outside this release. Intel is included in the build; runtime testing has been on Apple Silicon.

Bluetooth tells only part of the story.

Playback status and song titles come from the headphones, not Spotify or other Mac apps. Empty or stale reports are possible even while music plays. Hush cannot display track information the headphones do not relay.

Independent. Local. Open.

Hush is an unofficial community project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony. The app has no server, subscription, account or analytics. Your headphone settings stay local. This website and its downloads are hosted by GitHub.

BUILT IN THE OPEN

A quieter Mac.
A shared project.

Read the Swift source, report a compatibility issue, or help test a control. Hush is free to use, study and improve under the MIT license.
